    I believe that there is a lost translation in beating a cake for 2 hours. You are either intermittently beating the batter while doing other things or you are using a chopstick as a whisk. Maybe they wore a bota bag containing the batter while doing other chores for two hours. I suspect these were clog dancing nuns doing the baking.

    I have lived in a poor country, where people still cooked on fire while sitting down… and i can assure you.. the carrot and turnip peels do not go to hens… lol The peels are for the goat/cow/sheep in the house for producing milk…
